Chart of the Day
I don't usually post a 15-minute chart, but this one's kinda interesting: pic.twitter.com/JGtpEswvoP

Today’s Chart of the Day was shared by Walter Deemer (@WalterDeermer). It’s a 15-minute candlestick chart of the S&P 500 over the past eight days. It was a fairly quiet day for stocks, however, Walter points out that the S&P 500 has formed a bearish head & shoulders pattern over the past few days. The pattern will be confirmed if we break the neckline, around 3950. Keep in mind that this is a very short-term chart, and a measured move from this pattern would only be about -2%. It’s also important to remember that patterns often fail, and when they do, they tend to be followed by some pretty spectacular moves. Either way, keep an eye on how this pattern plays out in the coming days.
Quote of the Day
“Chart patterns are subject to failure. When a chart pattern fails, that is a more reliable signal than the chart pattern itself.”
– Peter Brandt

$SPX is pressuring the session lows. Either we break through and make for a technical break of a head-and-shoulders pattern seen on this 15min chart or this session will indeed finish out as one of the smallest daily ranges of 2022.

Over the last six months, small caps $IWM have outperformed large caps $SPY by about 400 bps. $IWM now testing trendline resistance. Is this a sign of uptrend exhaustion when small caps are unable to break out?… pic.twitter.com/aDTnSsTGhO

No guarantees and no predictions, but so far, so good. The Nasdaq 100 has posted some pretty gaudy returns 6-to-12 months after the Small Trade Put/Call Premium has crossed above 1.18 for the 1st time in 3 months. Different this time? #sentimentrader pic.twitter.com/hcsxMsmCuA
